I just wanted to thank everyone who came out to celebrate Lammas with us on Saturday. Wow, 25 people. We never expected that kind of turn out.
It was great to meet all the new people who were meeting The Grove for the first time and great to see so many familiar faces.
We want to thank Mattea again for letting us use her living room for the ritual. Also, many thanks go out to everyone who used their blessings during the ritual to thank Brittany and I. I can't really explain how amazing it feels to know that I am creating something for the Pagan community. Last but not least, a pre thank you to Paul and David for hosting our upcoming Mabon celebration.
To everyone from DFW Pantheons, I was delighted to meet everyone and I hope that we can arrange a few celebrations together in the future.
To everyone who showed interest in our Samhain event. Just use our forum to let us know in what fashion you would be interested in helping out with planning, whether it be through donations or labor. As soon as I get everything settled, I'll probably hold a planning meeting for all volunteers.
On a personal note from me, I am so sorry I wasn't a better hostess on Saturday. A massive headache hit me right after the evening started and, unfortunately, I wasn't much in the mood for conversation after that point.
Also, for everyone who took a collection envelopes for Soles4Souls. I will need any donations you have collected back by the September Meet and Eat or Mabon. If you are unable to attend either of those, email me and I will let you know how you can mail your donations back to me. For now until the end of our fundraiser for S4S, any donations made via Paypal on the "Support the Grove" page will go to S4S. This will enable anyone to donate via credit or debit card and help provide shoes for the disadvantaged. Remember, every $5 gives someone a pair of shoes.
I will be picking a date for the September Meet & Eat very soon. I'm waiting on more information from my job to see if my days off will change when we change managers.
Ok, so my entry from the other day was a bit premature, had I waited until today I could have told you facts.
We are officially moving the All Hallows Harvest to the First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church in Ft Worth.
We will be renting Coleman Fellowship Hall. First, our thank you to Alice Boyd at FJUUC for cutting their rental cost IN HALF for us. Merci beaucoup! And for investigating and hooking us up on the day we needed.
What does that mean? We still get to have the event on October 25th!
Now, the reason we're moving this is because I was some what underwhelmed by the room at Lake Arlington when we saw it in person. It looked not very well taken care of compared to the photos online. Also, the ceiling was very very low, which made it look smaller.
Coleman Hall is bigger than the room we had previously reserved, giving us plenty of room for both dinner, games, and the ritual without having to movie our tables aside after dinner. Also, according to Alice, we pretty much get to stay as late as we need to because they won't kick us out after a certain time. Chances are, the event will run from 5-10pm. Possibly later. I plan on making a sort of schedule closer to the date.
Now, why haven't we started selling tickets? There are many reasons, firstly, no one would buy them yet, secondly, I am hoping to find a way to lower the price. Thirdly, I am teaching myself how to use this whole ticket selling thing and I have details I have to work out before I'll feel comfortable selling the tickets online.
Expect to be able to buy tickets with cash or check at Mabon. Online through Paypal much sooner.
